The pre-MQB era. EA888 Gen 1 and the older EA113 powered the VW Golf MK6 GTI, Scirocco 2.0 TSI, Audi A3 / S3 8P 2.0T, TT 8J 2.0T, and the A4 B7 2.0T. These platforms are now classic-modern modifiers’ favourites — affordable, well-supported, and responsive to bolt-on upgrades. Blaze still makes for them: a direct-fit cold air intake for the Golf 6 GTI / Scirocco / A3 8P 2.0T, and a VW Gen 1 intercooler upgrade for the same family of cars.
