Blaze Performance AToM V2 Intake System – VW MQBe GTI 2.0T (Mk8)

The AToM V2 for the Mk8 GTI is built on the same induction philosophy that earned this kit a global dealer network — a true cold-air intake that seals to the hood, isolates incoming air from engine-bay heat, and feeds the turbo through a free-flowing 100 mm hard pipe.

On the Mk8 the factory inlet is the bottleneck. Our 56 mm turbo inlet flange opens the throat, the 120 mm reverse-mounted cone pulls maximum volume through a full-width cowl, and the 160 mm accumulator / heat shield holds cold air right at the filter so the turbo always sees the densest charge available.

Dyno-validated on stock-turbo Mk8 GTI: back-to-back runs against the factory intake on a Mustang chassis dyno, with matched ambient conditions and consistent fluid temps. No cherry-picked runs — average of four pulls per setup.

Fitment note: Due to the large ducting that scoops maximum air, certain aftermarket hoods with centre vents may have clearance issues. Check your hood profile before ordering if you run an aftermarket bonnet.

Do I need a tune?
A tune is recommended. The intake will install and run on a stock ECU, but to get the full power gain and protect boost-strategy headroom, submit a datalog to your calibrator after install so they can review and adjust if needed.

Will it fit with my aftermarket hood?
The full-width cowl and 160 mm accumulator sit high in the engine bay. If your hood has a centre vent or a recessed underside, check clearance before ordering. Stock hoods fit without issue.

Is the filter washable?
Yes. The 120 mm cone filter is fully serviceable — clean with intake cleaner and re-oil per the manufacturer’s instructions. Replacement filters are available as a separate SKU.

How does this compare to the Mk7 RACE V2?
Same induction philosophy — 100 mm case outlet, 120 mm filter, sealed cold-air feed — rebuilt for the MQBe engine bay and the Mk8 GTI’s turbo position. The Mk8 needs the new 56 mm flange and a re-shaped accumulator to clear the EA888 evo4 packaging.
